We request that you complete the patient forms that are relevant to the reason for your first office visit. These are found in the New Patient Center section on the home page. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition. Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you as a member of our family.
Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Michael Barry to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Barry to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.
After your consultation, Dr. Barry will perform a complete examination related to your specific health concerns. This often includes a postural assessment using our state-of-the-art digital software, spinal flexibility/stability evaluation, and orthopedic and neuroloical testing.
Depending on your specific condition, we may elect to perform an x-ray examination of the area of concern. Radiographs are most frequently employed to provide additional details regarding biomechanics and other aspect of your condition that can only be identified using procedures that look inside your body. This will assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you, or determine if additional advanced imaging or referral to another health care professional is necessary.
After your exam, you can choose to experience your first treatment.
This may include spinal adjustment, physical therapy, and/or massage.
Treatment is interactive, so you can feel free to express your
preference regarding a specific style of treatment at any time. If you
are in pain when you first come into our office, you may receive
recommendations for home care, such as the use of ice or heat, and
avoidance of certain activities or position.
Report of Findings
Once your health history information and examination data has been reviewed, Dr. Michael Barry will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions on your second visit. This will include:
- How can you help me?
- How often do I need to come in?
- What will my treatment cost?
If you are a candidate for chiropractic health care, Dr. Barry will provide the best treatment and wellness program for your needs. If your condition requires additional diagnostic procedures that aren't performed in our office or referral to another health care professional, we will happily assist you in finding a qualified facility.
